From brownstones to luxury lofts to corporate offices, our multi-disciplinary expertise gives us a unique understanding of collaborative construction practice and client vision.
The majority of our millwork is custom made to the owners or architects requirement. We are able to customize every type of material specific to requirement and are highly attentive to detail.
No matter what your aesthetic, our team of professionals can help you get the most of your budget. We identify and work with the right subcontractors, appoint project managers and attain a site chief.
We have remodeled and revitalized spaces at some of the most coveted addresses in New York City. Our handiwork has been featured on Million Dollar Listing and in House Beautiful. We do all our own custom millwork in-house, and we employ our own tradesmen to ensure unmatched quality control. This unwavering commitment to quality has made KNG Construction the contractor of choice for some of the city’s finest architects, designers and homeowners.
As a second-generation heritage company, KNG prides itself on forging lasting relationships with our clients, many of whom turn to us time and again for their construction and remodeling needs. We’ve established this rapport over the years by listening carefully to our clients’ needs and striving to exceed their expectations.
The history of KNG Construction can be traced back four decades to a legacy of hard work and stellar craftsmanship passed down over three generations. Company founder Mark Azzopardi first learned the trade from his father, an immigrant from the Isle of Malta. The seeds of Mark’s childhood experience eventually led to the forming of his own company, KNG Construction. For years, he operated as a single-person outfit, beginning with pushing a shopping cart to jobs, doing work for managing agencies and renovating rental units.
Mark eventually began working as a subcontractor for a variety of high-end construction management firms, then eventually as a general contractor as he forged positive relationships with architects and design teams throughout NYC. Soon after, he began working extensively in custom architectural millwork, building a 10,000-square-foot woodworking shop to handle his projects in house—a feature that would become a company hallmark over the next decade.
Over the years, the company has maintained high levels of quality control by employing its own tradesmen directly as opposed to subcontracting them. Today, KNG has become a go-to general contracting firm for high-end remodeling projects in New York City—a level of success earned through hard work, learning from mistakes and a standard of unmatched customer service.
For an architect, finding a good contractor to complete the design cycle is critical. Working with Mark Azzopardi of KNG made the transition from drawing to building seamless and in the end netted a remarkable project. Prior to the start of construction, Mark and his team studied our design and gained a clear understanding of intentions so not to lose any details in translation. Often, when faced with unexpected conditions, Mark would provide us with solutions that were consistent with our overall vision. Mark’s ability to collaborate and work with the project team made the overall experience enjoyable for us but more importantly, the client. I look forward to working with Mark and KNG again in the near future and highly recommend their services.

BROMLEY CALDARI ARCHITECTS
Eight years ago we underwent a gut renovation with KNG Construction. We could not have been more pleased with the experience and the result. Mark Azzopardi and his staff were so professional. We were promised a completion date and our goal was reached. We had weekly meetings to make decisions and changes. Our architect did a good job in the design, but as the weeks went by, Mark had the ability to see ways that it could be even better improved . He was so creative! He made our kitchen cabinets and some of our furniture. He dealt with the suppliers. We were so happy that we have recommended him to about a dozen friends and relatives who have been thrilled with his work. If we needed something to be repaired or repainted, he never hesitated to answer our call. He is very much a part of our lives. We cannot praise him and his company enough.
