Refinishing the Hardwood Floors

One of our first tasks on this project was the restoration and refinishing of the old hardwood floors in the residence’s dining room. These floors were more than 40 years old and needed to be treated with the utmost care. We restored the flooring to its original appearance, bringing out its stunning detail. We also installed the dining room’s baseboards, which were custom crafted by KNG’s architectural woodworking shop.

Custom Furnishings

KNG fabricated some custom furnishings for this apartment in our own millwork shop. These included the large custom dining room table with seating for up to 12 people, as well as the sleek, white high-gloss cabinets. These were installed by our master craftsmen.

Coffered Ceilings

To add interest and bring out the unique character of this space, KNG also fabricated the elegant coffered ceilings in the apartment. These ceilings were crafted from plaster molding, then framed, installed and skim coated. We then finished them with a coat of plain white paint to add a sense of lightness and openness to the space.

Custom Built-Ins and Custom Doors

The living room of this residence gave us ample opportunities to add interest. We fabricated the tall custom built-in bookcase in our own architectural woodworking shop, as well as the entertainment center housing the flat-screen television and extra storage. The entertainment center/storage unit was custom made using walnut wood and finished with an open-pore satin finish, adding warmth and richness to the space. KNG also fabricated and installed the elegant sliding doors.
